Jenna Viro is a writer for whom the boundaries of artistic form are questions to be explored, categorization a means of creating chimeras, and confusion a necessary motion for stirring thought. She studies literary theory and aesthetics at the University of Helsinki in the Master’s Programme in Art Studies. Viro’s debut novel Tuhkimoleikkaus (2023) was nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize for debut works and received an honorable mention. The novel explores themes such as cosmetic surgery, performativity, and gender roles. She is currently working on her second novel.
