Aki Salmela (b. 1976) is a poet and translator based in Helsinki. His debut poetry collection, Sanomattomia lehtiä, was published in 2004 and received the Kalevi Jäntti Prize. In August 2025, his tenth collection, ~, will be published by Poesia.
Salmela has also translated a wide range of poetry and other literature into Finnish, including works by Paul Celan, Anne Carson, and Ron Silliman.
