Anna-Sofia Anttonen is a curious saxophonist based in Helsinki. She has studied classical music in Sibelius Academy and in the Conservatory of Balearic Islands. She is interested in inter-arts and collaboration, looking for musical inspiration from the nature and the communication. Anna-Sofia gladly works with composers exploring the possibilities of her instrument.
Anna-Sofia plays in an experimental saxophone group Saxtronauts and in Kaaos Ensemble, which specializes in new music. She has performed as a soloist with Finnish National Orchestra. She has also experience from theatre, as she has worked as a saxophone soloist in the production “Neiti Julie” in Tampereen Työväen Teatteri.
In the summer of 2021, Anna-Sofia is working on e.g. Saxtronauts Hildegardin puutarhassa project, which brings music inspired by the life and music of Hildegard von Bingen to the gardens of Helsinki.
