E. L. Lyra

E. L. Lyra is a Finnish multidisciplinary artist specialising in music, poetry, essays, dance, photography and performance art. Lyra’s works are, above all, philosophical; the main themes explored comprise of time, the essence of life and beauty. Spatiality of time, existential space, the layering of meanings over time, mystery, sacredness created and made possible by time, the logic of poetry and dreams, the accumulation and stratification of time (rather than considering time as something ‘passing’), and time as a space are all found in one way or another in each of Lyra’s works.

“Life. Its simultaneous layers. Awakeness, dream and poetry blending in nonlinear (fractal) time – time that repeats and glints. Memories present in present time as much as the here and now, as inseparable (flashes of thoughts and associations). Time having accumulated and saturated all the aforementioned. And everything that I forget. The silence is full, and in a single gesture the entire world.” (E. L. Lyra, 2025)

In addition to her artistic work, Lyra is the host and founding member of the Art Philosophical Salon.
