Harry Salmenniemi (b. 1983) is one of the most original authors in contemporary Finnish literature. He has published five poetry books: Virrata että, Texas, Sakset, Runojä, Kivirivit and Pimeän lehdet. Salmenniemi’s first work of prose, short story collections Uraanilamppu, Delfiinimeditaatio, Uhrisyndrooma and Asiakaskoralli, was published in January 2017.
Salmenniemi has worked as the editor-in-chief of poetry magazine Tuli & Savu, and editor of poetry publisher Poesia. He has graduated as a Master of Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki, and studied also in Rome and Melbourne. In addition to his books, Salmenniemi is also known for his inter-arts collaborations. He has received several awards, and his texts have been translated into several languages.
