Jose Luis Rico (Mexico, 1987) is a poet and Spanish-language translator living in Finland. He holds a master’s degree in comparative literature (English and French) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and in creative writing from New York University (NYU). In 2022, he edited Saaristo, a multilingual contemporary poetry web anthology funded by TAIKE, and he is currently the chair of Sivuvalo Platform ry. From 2023 to 2024, Rico led the New Havens & Humanoids project, funded by the Kone Foundation, which supports the integration of non-Finnish-language writers in Finland and promotes Finnish-language poetry abroad.
