Juulia Terho

Juulia Terho (b.1991) is an artist working in many fields, and whose tools are writing, visual arts, and performance. Her works often deal with the relationship between a human and their material surroundings, the control that comes with it, and, on the other hand, the possibility of play. Terho is also interested in the questions of failure and pleasure.

In 2017 Terho graduated as a visual artist from Taideakatemia in Turku, and currently she studies drama and playwriting at Teatterikorkeakoulu. Terho is drawn to working with her hands due to its nature of surrendering to the matter, slowness, and error.

Terho’s installation Trace Place / Jälkihuone can be seen in pursuance of the Poetry Moon Festival at the cultural center Stoa.
