Katja Meriluoto

Katja Meriluoto (b. 1975) is a Helsinki-based Master of Arts and a translator of contemporary Estonian poetry into Finnish. Her debut poetry collection, The Weight of the Bee (2023), is a travelogue through time and space, echoing with mythical tones. It contemplates human separateness and our place in nature, as well as in the staged communities of the world. In 2023, the collection was nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize, the Runeberg Prize, and the Kalevi Saxell Memorial Prize.
