Priss Niinikoski

Priss Niinikoski (b. 1997) is a Finnish-French artist whose cross-disciplinary practice weaves together textile art, technology, and sound. She holds an MFA and MA from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, Belgium.

Niinikoski’s works study the interaction of materials and technologies, with particular attention to the interfaces between analogue and digital. She has created interactive installations that merge craft, programming, and electronic textiles, addressing themes of communication, acoustics, systemic reorganisation, and uncertainty.

In 2024 Niinikoski received the inaugural Johanna Ehrnrooth Prize for her MFA exhibition piece Sonic mediations. From spring 2025, Sonic mediations will be on view at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art as part of the Saastamoinen Foundation’s Dialogues collection exhibition.

Niinikoski has participated in numerous international residencies, and her works have been exhibited in Italy, Germany, Belgium, France, Japan, and the Netherlands. Her pieces are held in the collections of the Saastamoinen Foundation, Arper Feltrin Foundation, Villa Noailles, and Le19M. In autumn 2025 she will undertake a residency at MORPHO in Antwerp, Belgium, supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
