Satu Taskinen

Satu Taskinen (b. 1970, Helsinki) lives in Vienna. Taskinen has studied theoretical philosophy and Germanic philology. Her debut novel Täydellinen paisti was published in 2011, and the rest of the trilogy Katedraali in 2014 and Lapset in 2017. The trilogy has been translated into German. Taskinen has published several texts in magazines in Finnish and in German, and has participated in different projects, such as Schriftproben 2012, KOMPOSITIO 2015 and CROWD 2016.

Satu Taskinen has been awarded with, for example, Helsingin Sanomat debut prize in 2011, Akateeminen kirjakauppa literary prize in 2012, and Toisinkoinen literary prize in 2014. Taskinen has also been nominated for the European Book Prize in 2012, and for the EU’s literary prize in 2016.
