Suvi Valli (b. 1977) is a poet, essayist, and translator. She has published four poetry collections: Sotilas (Soldier, Gummerus 2025), Spiraali (Spiral, Otava 2017), Elämä:kertoja (Life:Narrator, 2014), and Ohijuoksija (The Passing Runner, 2011), as well as an essay collection titled Hallittua kaatumista (Controlled Falling, Poesia 2021).
She has also translated into Finnish the German travelogue Mein Sommer 1805 by J.G. Seume (Kesä 1805, Poesia 2018) and Judith Schalansky’s Verzeichnis einiger Verluste (Catalogue of Lost Things, Poesia 2024). Valli’s works have been nominated for several literary awards, including Yleisradio’s Dancing Bear Prize and the Runeberg Prize.
