Ääniä ajassa, puhetta junissa

Ääniä ajassa, puhetta junissa (Sounds in Time, Conversations on Trains) is a collectively created text-based performance centered on traveling by train.

In the performance, artists Katja Luhtala, Maija Saksman, and Lea Kalenius read improvised printouts of text collages: conversations heard on trains, lyrical monologues, train songs from the past, platform atmospheres, and passing landscapes. They also create sound effects, occasionally play instruments, and sing to enhance the ambiance.

The performance premiered in the fall of 2023 during the Night of the Arts, and its revised version will be featured in Poetry Moon in collaboration with the artist association Yö ry. The performance is in Finnish, but it also incorporates English material and rhythmic nonsense.

The event takes place in Yö Galleria, and is free of charge. Welcome!
