Sirpa Kyyrönen is an award-winning and respected poet, poetry activist, and literary arts instructor. Her debut poetry collection, “Naispatsaita” (2010), was nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize, and she was awarded the Katri Vala Prize in 2011. In 2023, Kyyrönen received the Einari Vuorela Poetry Prize.
Kyyrönen is the chair of the literary community Tekstin Talo and has served as the chair of the board of the cooperative Poesia. She has also been actively involved in the poetry association Nihil Interit. Kyyrönen was born in Hämeenkyrö and lives with her family in Helsinki. Interviewer: Vesa Rantama.
