Genreblender: an Evening of Mixing Genres

At Poetry Moon’s Genreblender poets, musicians, novelists, and other artists, representing various different genres, take the stage. The evening is full of solo and joint performances that celebrate poetry and combine it with music and different genres of literature. Some of the performances are multilingual, but the domestic acts perform mostly in Finnish. The event is hosted in Finnish.

Genreblender features two international guests as a French poet and musician, Yekta performs alongside Matti Kangaskoski and a prized Lithuanian poet, Aušra Kaziliūnaitė showcases her poetry in a solo reading. Non-fiction and poetry unite in a reading given by Mia Kankimäki and Saila Susiluoto. The program also includes an Essay Open Mic, a comic book reading, and a solo performance by Eeva Turunen. The closing act of the evening is a collaborative performance by Henrik Pathirane and Redder. Also performing: Sinikka Vuola & Niko Kumpuvaara, Hannele Richert, Vili Nissinen, Riina Näsi and Taneli Viljanen.
