Poetry Mixtape

Unfolding on Saturday evening at Poetry Moon, Poetry Mixtape offers a polyphonic dose of poetry from Finland and abroad—spoken, performed, and presented through a variety of forms.

Kenah Cusanit
German poet and writer Kenah Cusanit reads from her work. Born in 1979 in Blankenburg, Cusanit is an orientalist and ethnologist whose essays and poetry have received numerous awards. Her texts have appeared in magazines such as Edit and Bella triste.

Suvi Valli
Poet, essayist, and translator Suvi Valli has published four poetry collections, including her latest, Sotilas (Soldier, Gummerus 2025). At Poetry Mixtape, she will read excerpts from this new work.

Stina Saari
In Stina Saari’s performance Onninno, language comes alive as a spatial artwork—an element that belongs between people. Language becomes a vibration, a movement, a formation like a murmuration of birds. Poems from Änimling emerge from within Onninno, alongside new texts from an upcoming manuscript. The performance is charismatic, “onninnic,” and thematically resonant.

Kiitämme saamastamme luottamuksesta
We Thank You for the Trust Placed in Us is a poetic performance by Räty X Vallila about rejection and being rejected. Rejection letters are written and received more than ever before. They carry power—and sometimes, they’re never even sent. Especially when it’s emotions or language that do the rejecting.
