Founded in 2022, Silent Book Club Helsinki is part of a global community of nearly 2,000 silent book clubs. There is no assigned book—everyone reads a book of their own choosing. The shared silent reading time lasts for one hour, and before and after reading, there’s an opportunity to chat with fellow readers. You’re also welcome to simply come and read—quietly, together! The book club is open to all and free of charge. We follow safer space principles.
In August, we’ll meet for a reading picnic in Torkkelinpuistikko as part of the Runokuu (Poetry Moon) Festival! Bring your own book, something to sit on, and snacks if you like. Weather permitting!
