Text Laboratory #2 will take place at Tekstin talo from July 14 to August 24, with its outcomes presented as part of the Runokuu Festival program on Wednesday, August 20.
The Text Laboratory is a residency project at Tekstin talo focused on experimental approaches to text culture. Its aim is to explore and develop new ways of making text-based art and literature accessible and experiential for audiences.
The following artists working with text were selected for the second edition of the Text Laboratory:
– Heu Hsu (Taiwan), sound artist and writer
– Silja Kejonen, poet and contemporary artist
– Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy (Australia/Greece), theatre artist and curator
– Robert B. Lisek (Poland/Germany), visual artist, mathematician, and composer
– Vili Pääkkö, sound designer
– Aliha Thalien (France), director, writer, and video artist
– Ofem Ubi (Nigeria), poet and visual artist
– Asiya Wadud (USA), poet
The artists’ processes are supported by theatre director and facilitator Maiju Tainio, writer, researcher, and musician Matti Kangaskoski, and project coordinator Heidi Backström. The project is funded by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation.
