Versopolis: Shorelines of European poetry

Versopolis, a network for European poetry festivals, brings two international guests to the festival again this year! We are proud to introduce to the Finnish poetry audience the Icelandic poet Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir and the Trinidad-born, long-time UK resident Anthony Vahni Capildeo. In addition to this on-stage interview, the poets will perform at the Connection Club event later in the evening.

A selection of the writers’ poems and their Finnish translations will be made into two poetry booklets/zines, which will be given away for free at the festival.

The purpose of Versopolis network is to create connections between European poetry communities and support the international movement and visibility of poets. The Versopolis database contains profiles of distinguished poets from dozens of countries. Our festival is the Finnish partner of Versopolis.

The Versopolis event is funded by EU Creative Europe.

Free entrance.
