Yevgeniy Breyger was born in Charkov, Ukraine in 1989 and moved to Germany in 1999. He has worked as a lecturer for poetry, art books and social sciences in the academia. He won the Leonce and Lena Prize of the City of Darmstadt in 2019, and scholarships from the German Literature Fund and the Edenkoben Manor in 2020. In 2021 he received the Munich Poetry Prize and 2022 scholarship of Villa Massimo Rome – Casa Baldi. His latest book is “Frieden ohne Krieg” (kookbooks, 2023). He is a visiting professor for Literary Writing & Translation at the University of Hildesheim, at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the German Institute of Literature in Leipzig and Sprachkunst Wien.
