Sirpa Kyyrönen

Sirpa Kyyrönen (b. 1978) is a poet, poetry activist, and literary arts instructor.

Kyyrönen’s debut poetry collection, “Naispatsaita” (2010), was nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize, and she was awarded the Katri Vala Prize in 2011. Kyyrönen received the Einari Vuorela Poetry Prize in 2023. Her latest work, the acclaimed “Talviunia” (published by Otava), was released in early 2024.

Kyyrönen is the chair of the literary community Tekstin Talo and has served as the chair of the board of the cooperative Osuuskunta Poesia. Previously, she has been actively involved in the poetry association Nihil Interit, among other activities. Kyyrönen is originally from Hämeenkyrö and lives in Helsinki with her family.
