Charles Quevillon is a Finnish-Canadian composer, performer, and Doctor of Music. In his works, he focuses on the physicality of musical performance; the production of sound often expands into dance, theatre, and circus. He has worked full-time as a composer and performer since 2014, when he graduated with a master’s degree from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.
Key milestones in his career include extensive collaboration with Canadian choreographer Ted Robinson (27 dance works), which culminated in his first opera, Love and Other Things, in 2016. His collaboration with visual artist Maija Tammi began with a work combining video and performance, presented at Kiasma Theatre in 2020. His compositional style has evolved and been shaped through international projects, culminating in the chamber opera Kaiutin Kaste in 2024 and the completion of his doctoral degree at the Sibelius Academy in 2026.
