Minna Mikkonen (b. 1983) is interested in interspecies and intergeneric relations and seeks to cultivate an experimental and questioning mode of practice in her work as a writer. She has published three novels and a poetry–photography work, and has also worked as a librettist and scriptwriter in the field of performance art. Mikkonen has termed her artistic practice “writing disappearance,” which encompasses perspectives on the thematic and linguistic exploration of text as well as on articulating a practice of multispecies work. She received her Master’s degree in literature and writing from the University of Jyväskylä in 2017, and her master’s thesis examined memory and spaces of narration. Mikkonen has also previously worked as a practical nurse with children and the elderly.
