Markku Paasonen (b. 1967) is a poet and prose writer. He was among the central figures of the new prose poetry movement in the early 2000s. Since then, he has sought to move freely between literary genres. His most recent works include Kaikki on tuhoutunut (All Has Been Destroyed, 2023), a collection of short prose and prose poems, and Lykätty salamurha (A Deferred Assassination, 2023), an essay collection dealing with language and literature. Last January saw the publication of his tenth work, Rikospaikka / Ilmestyskirja (Crime Scene / Book of Revelation), a whole consisting of two prose poems.
