Miira Luhtavaara

Miira Luhtavaara (b. 1983) is a Helsinki-based poet and psychologist. She has published three poetry collections: Ruohikon luut (2014), Sinusta roikkuu valoa (2019), and Pinnallisuus (2022). Her debut novel, Tuhkaksi tekemisen taika (2023), which deals with depression and life in a blended family, was awarded the Kalevi Jäntti Prize. Her two most recent works of fiction were both nominated for the Runeberg Prize. Luhtavaara has also co-authored a children’s emotional skills book, Tunnemuskelit (2026), with Marjut Maristo. Her fourth poetry collection, Kalat kulkevat lintuina, will be published by Teos in August 2026.
