Open Call for the 20th Anniversary of Runokuu 2025

The 20th Anniversary Open Call for Runokuu 2025 is Open Until February 23rd

In August 2005, the multidisciplinary Runokuu / Poetry Moon Literature Festival was held for the first time in Helsinki. We are now inviting proposals for events, performances, collaboration and other ideas that will make the anniversary year this year’s Runokuu the greatest Runokuu of all time!

Runokuu / Poetry Moon Festival takes place across Helsinki every August. Most of the Runokuu events will take place during the ten-day festival period starting from the Night of the Arts on Thursday August 14th spanning to Sunday 24th.

This year, we welcome all kinds of proposals without a specific over-arching theme for the festival. Submissions can relate to Runokuu’s history (e.g., new performances of past performances) or not. The proposal can be interdisciplinary, but it must have a connection to literature. Performances or other ideas may also be in languages other than Finnish.

The open call closes on February 23rd. We will contact shortlisted candidates in April. Unfortunately, we cannot provide feedback on proposals or selection decisions.
