Jose Luis Rico (Mexico, 1987) is a Finland-based poet and translator. He earned a master’s degree in comparative literature (English and French) from Mexico’s National University (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) and another one in creative writing from New York University (NYU). Rico edited the TAIKE-funded multilingual contemporary poetry online anthology Saaristo in 2022 and is the current chairman of Sivuvalo Platform ry. Currently, Rico leads the New Havens & Humanoids project funded by Kone Foundation, which promotes the integration of writers in non-official languages in Finland and promotes Finnish-language poetry abroad.
