The Waste Land, a poem by T. S. Eliot, is considered one of the central works of modernism. In 2022, 100 years have passed since the poem’s publication.
The Finnish translator Juha Silvo had translated a collection of T. S. Eliot’s poetry already in 2012. The collected works will be published in 2022 by WSOY. The Italian poet Sara Ventroni discovered The Waste Land in the 90s and translated it for herself, to “cross it, to get into it, to make it [hers]”. Ventroni’s translation is also up for publication in honor of the 100th anniversary by Italian Ponte alle Grazie.
