Poetry encounters – Runokuu Goes Hakasalmen huvila

At Poetry Encounters workshop audience gets the chance to write poetry inspired by Ismo Hölttö exhibition Encounters in 1960s Helsinki. At the workshop we will write poetry portraits and other verses for people in Hölttö´s photographs, and examine how we can see something universal and even current themes of these artworks located in certain period of time.

As Hölttä´s timeless photographs are beyond time-limited nostalgy and speak to the audience today, also poetic language can phrase common and humane experiences of all generations. At the workshop, we explore how we can write poetry based on these ideas.

You can drop in whenever you like, and you can stay as long as you wish. The workshop is open for all: you don´t need experience about creative writing or knowledge about poetry. Teacher and host of the workshop is creative writing teacher Jenni Hurmerinta.

The workshop is free of charge. The entrance fee to Hakasalmen huvila is 12/10 €, free entry for children under 18 and with Museum Card.

In cooperation with Hakasalmen huvila/Helsinki city museum.
