Experience Runokuu 2025 at the House of Text, August 20–23 – this year you can attend the paid program with affordable €9 day tickets!

Day tickets are now available in the festival’s ticket shop.

Note! After purchasing your ticket, remember to reserve your spot for individual events – instructions will be sent to your email.

With a Festival Pass, you can access all Runokuu events at the House of Text from August 20–23 for just €29. After purchase, you’ll receive instructions on how to reserve seats for specific events. Festival passes are available until August 11.

There is a limited number of day tickets and passes available. Day tickets and festival passes only grant access to events held at the House of Text. Tickets for the performance Sakraaliesseet are sold separately here.

Paid Program at the House of Text

Wednesday, August 20
The program includes Textlab #2, showcasing the results of a residency, the opening of the video work What Remains? by Olli Pyyhtinen and a discussion about the piece, literary commentary led by Nuori Voima editor-in-chief Otso Venho, and a performance by Sinikka Vuola and Anna-Kaari Hakkarainen titled Satakieli kurkussa – Conversations with Leonora Carrington.

Thursday, August 21
In the House of Text’s Permantosali, the Houre ja Siirre discussion explores contemporary Spanish- and Russian-language poetry outside their countries of origin with Hamdam Zakirov, Polina Kopylova, and Jose Luis Rico. The Runokimara poetry showcase features 2025 publications by poets Outi-Illuusia Parviainen, Vesa Haapala, and Sanna Karlström.

Friday, August 22
In the Parvisali hall, Katri Naukkari and Janne Myllymäki present Murskautuminen, a performance exploring conflicting relationships with nature. Choreographer Veli Lehtovaara and working group presents Kunnes Avartuu, a stage piece where dance interacts with Milka Luhtaniemi’s poetry collection Tauoton.

Saturday, August 23
The finalweekend features performances by Vincenzo Mascolo and Marco Munaro at the Evening of Italian Poetry, the lesbian punk duo RÄKÄlicious combining video art and live music, the installation concert Seikka II by Olli Moilanen and Priss Niinikoski, and Poetry Mixtape, a showcase of diverse poetic forms featuring Kenah Cusanit, Suvi Valli, Stina Saari, Räty x Vallila, and black mödernism.

A Wide Range of Free Events

Runokuu also offers a wide selection of free programming. For example, discussions on current literary topics at Helsinki Central Library Oodi are open to all. The House of Text also hosts high-quality poetry and literature events free of charge. You can find more details about the free program here.
